People should be able to transfer (non-executable (meaning not .exe, .dll, .hta, .com, .cmd, .bat, .scr, .vbs, etc.)) files via chat window. Although you may want to put a size limit on it.

This is just too much work right now .. it would be needed to implement JEP-0096 (see http://www.jabber.org/jeps/jep-0096.html ).. i am still hoping that it will be implemented into smack (the jabber library GOIM uses) one day ..

then it wouldn't be a problem to add it to goim

my dreams came true… SMACK implemented file transfers: http://www.jivesoftware.org/builds/smack/docs/latest/changelog.html

so i'm ready to go and implement it in GOIM .. (after updating to the latest smack version) ...

(if they now also implement jingle, they're my absolute heroes ;) )
