Automatic Change because Admin changed global settings.

i would need.. filename of the .exe file of the game (and if it is in the root directory of the game) .. and the registry keys it uses.. and a 16x16 icon .. or the .exe itself so i can extract ..

it would also be nice to get the command line parameters needed to connect to a server and information about default game and query ports.

Of course you can get the full path from the registry, HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareValveSteamModInstallPath (which will take you to the steamappsusernamehalf-life dir)

I believe you can just launch the counter-strikehl.exe with "+connect 1.2.3.4:1234;password whatever" if you wanted.

and.. i have to change something with the wiki render engine .. it strips out backslashes in every damn text .. (it's because they are used to escape characters.. but double backslash is for creating a new line ..)
